“Food has been quite a journey for me. In the past I have been addicted to sugar, an emotional eater, under-ate, overate, or didn’t eat. Food has been a mental block for me for a while. I allowed my feelings to control how, when and what I ate and that made me feel worse. At times I allowed my emotions around food to decide how I felt about myself.

Working with Alex gave me one of the greatest gifts and that is awareness. You would have thought I was “aware” before since thinking about food was my hobby, but I wasn’t aware of the things that surrounded my thoughts – the emotions, the actions. Alex helped me to become more aware of triggers, thoughts, and emotions that occurred before and during eating.

I actually feel like a weight was lifted. I am so much more rational with my thoughts and that leads to the type of actions I want to take. I don’t assign bad or good to my eating which in turn allows me to let go of feeling like I am failing or winning. Before taking time with Alex my thoughts and feelings around food felt dark or heavy. Now, I am able to approach food with a lighter thought process.
